Anna Maria Island, Part 2

Wednesday:
Another beach day!  This was Jack's 1st beach trip, as you can read in the photo below.  He lived it up all week.  Jack is a good baby, but he seems to have personal preferences, such as a preference for blondes instead of those with dark hair.  Unfortunately, I'm the only one on the trip with dark hair.

The condo that Mike and Kris stayed at (and were we spent most of the day) was right on the beach, with the pool being steps from the beach access.  Cars could park right between the beach and pool.

Proud Grandparents and Jack play in the sand.
We ate at the Star Fish Co. fish market/ dock restaurant on Wednesday night.  Right off of the dock are several older fishing boats ad a picturesque shack where pelicans rest their wings.  All of the food is fried (aside from the overly mayonnaised slaw) and served in paper boxes.  The guys loved the Captain's basket, complete with all things seafood (fried, of course).

Thursday
Another nice beach/pool day.  I ran barefoot in the sand, regretting it when my arches hurt the next morning.  For dinner, we ate at a local favorite - the Sand Bar, where we dined in the beach and saw the sunset from our table.  The weather was perfect, not too hot and no rain.  Of course we used this time for many photo ops!

Friday
We had a professional photographer scheduled to take beach-side pictures at 9am.  A few minutes delay due to a downpour, resulted in perfect, serene beach, clearing skies, and NOBODY around to mess up our beautiful back drop.  Those pictures will follow soon.  After the shoot, we ate brunch at the Rod and Reel, another island favorite dining spot.  Who wouldn't want to eat out of a pier like that?

  1. Love catching up with you through your blog, Katelyn! And don't worry about your nephew preferring only blondes right now. He'll grow out of it. One day when you have kids, they will probably prefer dark-haired people (just like their mama!) at that age. :-)
